Business Unit Director, Expert Services

In this role you will lead a professional organisation, supporting pharmaceutical companies with a wide selection of services. Our teams in Finland and Sweden, provide services within Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Data Driven Business & Research, Real World Evidence, and many other areas. We are looking for a people and business oriented person, with a strong background from business leadership, producing and selling services, that can manage consultancy based work with business development in an international environment. If your background is from the pharmaceutical industry you probably understand our services and know how to best offer them to our customers. And if you have a background in consultancy driven businesses you are experienced within recruiting, maintaining and developing experts within many areas.

You need to understand customer relationship management and how to run an organisation with motivated experts, that are in direct contact with our customers every day. You need experience from value based price setting and quotations, providing and scaling production of services and the ability to build strong teams. Digital development and using new tools to improve business is natural for you and you have an understanding for the possibilities it brings. As Business Unit Director you are responsible for the revenue and profitability of your business areas. This permanent position is located in Espoo, Finland, with the responsibility to manage a team based in various locations in Finland and Sweden, meaning a certain amount of travelling and understanding of business in all Nordic countries, is needed.

You are responsible for:

  • Leadership and goal setting for approximately 150 experts within our service categories and continuous organizational development, based on your direct reports
  • Support, maintain and develop long term customer relationships with new and existing customers, with the purpose of developing and maintaining the business.
  • Drive and develop recruitment of consultants to meet customers needs and provide efficiency in service production for all service categories
  • Proactively work to maximize earnings per customer, through analysis, driving sales and marketing strategies
  • Be responsible for business offers and quotations, calculations, pricing and agreement negotiations with applicable customers
  • Monitor the internal and external business environment through customer meetings, your teams, media, contacts with the applicable authorities and participation in relevant business events.

You work as part of an experienced Management Team, reporting to the Vice President of Business Area Pharma. You collaborate actively with other Business Areas and Group functions.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • +5-10 years’ experience in successful management roles. Experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical company and/or consultancy background.
  • Result and target oriented
  • Self-reliant with and operational mindset
  • Analytical skills with a high business acumen
  • High social skills and people oriented
  • Fluent in English and Finnish language, Swedish is an asset
